Who will be the "People's Monarch 2008"?

You can decide by voting for the artiste of your choice and the song they are singing!

Preliminary voting begins on Tuesday July 1st 2008 and ends on Thursday July 24th 2008 at 12 noon.

You can cast your preliminary vote by…

i) Sending a text message with the name of the artiste and song of your choice, via Digicel text services, to 8683.

Each text costs 50 cents VAT Inclusive.
Digicel Phones only.

The eight "song/artiste" combos with the most votes will qualify for the quarter- final stages.

A draw will be made to determine the quarter-final pairings, which will be announced on Friday July 25th 2008, by 5.30 pm.

You can cast your vote in the quarter, semi and grand final stages by…

All votes in the knockout stages must be submitted during play-off hours only.

The winner of "People's Monarch 2008" will receive a brand new Daihatsu Terios from McEnearney. The colour of the Terios will be chosen by you.

The following rules apply to eligibility for submission:

The People's Monarch shall be determined by votes from the public only.
The song must be released exclusively for Crop Over 2008.
The song must be released prior to voting close date.
The song cannot be a wholesale cover version.
The artiste must be a permanent resident of Barbados.
The song must be available for airplay on both VOB and HOTT.
The content must not violate Starcom Network Incorporated's policy for airplay.
One Daihatsu Terios will be awarded to the singer of the winning song.
The winner must retain the vehicle for at least one calendar year.
In the event where the winner is not the holder of a driver's license, the winner must allow his/her talent to be used in no less than four commercials (audio or video) for McEnearney Quality Inc.
Votes are not open to employees of Starcom Network Inc or any member of One Caribbean Media
Multiple votes via Internet from the same individual will be counted as one vote only
Other prizes will be awarded to the singers of the winning songs.
All decisions of Starcom Network Inc. are final
